comfortable stay, but dining experience needs attention
The King Room Partial River View had modern amenities that enhanced our comfort. The river view from the balcony was stunning, allowing us to enjoy the scenery while sipping coffee. Both dinner and breakfast offered delicious food options that satisfied our taste preferences, leaving a favorable impression.
Dinner service felt overwhelmed at times, leading to long waits for our meal.

The location by the Columbia River is stunning.
We were seriously frustrated by the absence of a refrigerator in our room. It was the only hotel on our trip that didn’t offer this basic amenity. Plus, the thermostat was confusing, and we could never get the room cool enough for a comfortable night's sleep. Dinner service was painfully slow, taking far too long for our food to arrive, and breakfast wasn't much better, with orders coming out lukewarm.

The stay at McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge felt special due to the charming decor that reflects local history. The themed design is engaging and truly adds character to the place. The room offered a fantastic partial river view, which we enjoyed from the cozy balcony equipped with comfy chairs and blankets for the chill. Cleanliness stood out, as everything felt fresh during our time there. However, the absence of a refrigerator was frustrating, especially compared to previous hotels on our trip. We battled with the thermostat, unable to adjust it below 70. Dinner service was overwhelmed, leading to long waits. we spent two hours just waiting for our meal. Breakfast service had a similar flow issue, with some food arriving cool. While the comfort of the room made up for it in part, the dining experience needs a solid review for improvement.

The absence of a refrigerator in the room was unexpected and inconvenient, standing out compared to other hotels on our trip. The thermostat proved tricky to manage, keeping our room warmer than desired. Dining experiences were marred by long service delays, particularly during both dinner and breakfast when food served, like the eggs and hash browns, often came out cooler than ideal.

Couples looking for a unique getaway
Our room had an incredible view of the river, which was just beautiful when the sun set. And the food—yeah, we had a margherita pizza that packed more spice than I bargained for, but it was still good! !
It wasn't exactly cheap, but for what we got, it was still reasonable.

No fridge? ! UGH! The only hotel in our travels lacking this gizmo. But, kudos for brewing us some early morning coffee before our fishing escapade.
